What is TerrorWerks? TerrorWerks is an immersive live-action simulation in the science-fiction/horror genre. A team of up to fifteen players, representing US Space Marines, accompanied by MineraTek executives and engineers, will enter a 45-minute timed simulation. Players wind their way through a massive, simulated off-world mining outpost, racing against the clock to prevent their doom. Along the way they find clues to what happened to the crew, accomplish skill-based tasks and combat a swarm of alien horrors. TerrorWerks players will utilize safe, low-velocity, spring-driven AirSoft weapons and take the role of a Rifleman, Engineer, Medic, Synthetic (Android), or Corporate Executive - each with specific skills, goals and motivations. How does the game work? Players will select one of several basic character types, each with their own set of skills and assets. A balanced team is critical to mission success! After rules, safety briefings and time for the players to outfit themselves with equipment appropriate to their character, the players enter the simulation accompanied by a gamemaster in the role of the Marine platoon sergeant. Players typically have 2-3 skills, associated with their character type. Some skill-tests are resolved automatically by the players themselves through the performance of specific tasks or use of equipment only they possess. Other skills are randomly by the game master. During the simulation, players will be threatened by swarms of mysterious alien horrors. Marines will be equipped with full-automatic weapons to defend themselves and their team mates. Other character types may have limited firearms or may have to resort to boffer weapons or their own reflexes and wits to keep them alive. Teamwork is paramount to survival and success in TerrorWerks. United States Space Marine Miltary Occupational Specialties: MOS 0311: Rifleman - A proud member of the USSMC, trained to extend American diplomacy from the barrel of a gun on any of a dozen colony worlds. Equipped with body armor and an automatic rifle, the US Space Marine is ready to fight, anytime and anyplace. MOS 1371: Combat Engineer - A Marine specialist trained in a variety of skills from electronics to mechanical repair to demolitions. Engineers are not as heavily armored as riflemen and usually just carry a shotgun or sidearm as a defensive weapon. While trained to fight, their special skills are in high demand and thus they are rarely employed as frontline troops. USSN Hospital Corpsman (HM) - Technically the Marines don't have their own medics but are augmented by personnel from the United States Space Navy. USSN Corpsmen are trained to hold their own in a firefight as well as being skilled in combat first aid. They carry body army, an automatic rifle and their medic kits. They're proud to serve alongside the USSMC and are well respected by all Marines. MineraTek Field Assets Synthetic (CyberTek Humanoid Utility Models BI750, SH850, OP1000) - An artificial humanoid created by a combination of bio-engineering and cybernetics. Synthetics are not programmed for combat but are highly valued for a variety of special skillset programs including medicine, science, technology and other specialized support skills. Expensive to create, they are used by UniTek subsidiaries as science support staff and are often employed by the military as transport pilots or surgeons. MineraTek Level 7 Executive Systems Analyst - An onsite troubleshooter that acts in accordances with the needs and desires of the MineraTek Corporation, one of the largest mining companies in the colonial belt. Sent along as subject matter experts, they are also here to ensure the best interests of the corporation are maintained. Due to the complexities of interstellar travel they are more then just the eyes and ears of the company.
